Experimental renal hypertension; mechanism of production and maintenance.

چکیده
IFEEL highly honored to be the first speaker on this occasion, and I am particularly delighted that there is congregated here such a large and representative group of investigators who have been working actively in the field of hypertension for so many years. Since this is the introduction to this Conference, I shall start right out by reciting my credo, which is that so-called essential hypertension is of renal origin. Note that this statement does not include a commitment as to the mechanism whereby the kidneys effect the elevation of blood pressure. In fact, I wish to emphasize that the original experiment in the artificial production of renal hypertension was designed primarily to test only whether elevated blood pressure would result from a disturbance of intrarenal hemodynamics similar to that which probably exists in the diseased kidneys usually found at autopsy in patients with essential hypertension. Essential human hypertension, as it usually is defined, signifies elevated diastolic and systolic blood pressure of unknown origin and unassociated with obvious or significant disturbance of renal excretory function. This does not mean that there is no functional

Experimental Renal Hypertension Mechanism of Production and Maintenance

متن کاملProduction of Antirenin to Homologous Renin and Its Effect on Experimental Renal Hypertension
1. Procedures are described for the extraction and partial purification of dog renin, on a large scale, as well as for the acetylation of rat, rabbit, and dog renin. 2. Untreated homologous renin was not antigenic in rat, rabbit, or dog, but the acetylation of homologous renin made it antigenic. 3. Immunization of rats, rabbits, and dogs, with acetylated rat, rabbit, and dog renin, respectively...
متن کاملPersistent hypertension in the dog following disruption of the carotid sinus nerves and subsequent unilateral renal artery constriction.
CONSTRICTION of one renal artery in the dog does not as a rule produce sustained hypertension. Removal of the contralateral kidney, or bilateral renal artery constriction is necessary for the production of permanent hypertension. On the other hand, sustained hypertension may be produced regularly in the rat by unilateral renal artery constriction. Tt has been postulated that, in the rat, long s...
متن کاملA Reliability based Modelling and Optimization of an Integrated Production and Preventive Maintenance Activities in Flowshop Scheduling Problem
Traditional scheduling problems with the batch processing machines (BPM) assume that machines are continuously available, and no time is needed for their preventive maintenance (PM). In this paper, we study a realistic variant of flowshop scheduling which integrates flow shop batch processing machines (FBPM) and preventive maintenance for minimizing the makespan. In order to tackle the given pr...
متن کاملRole of the kidney in the development and maintenance of hypertension caused by renal segmental infarction in the rat.
Utilizing the microsurgical method of transplantation in the rat, the role of the kidney in an experimental renal hypertension due to segmental renal infarction was studied. When the infarcted kidney was transplanted into the bilaterally nephrectomized recipient, hypertension developed so long as the donor kidney was transplanted within 2 weeks after infarction. With transplantation of the norm...
